Issuing an AFM and Taxisnet credentials online

The Tax Identification Number (AFM — Αριθμός Φορολογικού Μητρώου) is a unique 9-digit tax identifier in Greece (example: 123456789). Delivered alongside the AFM are your Taxisnet credentials (Kleidarithmos / Κλειδάριθμος) — the passcode required to activate your online account on the AADE tax portal.

Through the myAADE digital platform, natural persons can apply for an AFM and receive their Taxisnet credentials without visiting a local tax office (DOY) in person.

  1. Identity Document:
    • Valid International Passport (for foreign residents and omogeneis prior to receiving identity cards)
    • Greek National ID card / EDTO card

Step-by-Step Instructions​

Step 1. Access the myAADE Application Service​

Open the online application portal: apoktisiafm.azurewebsites.net.

Step 2. Fill In Personal Details​

Enter your details using Latin script exactly as printed on your passport:

  • First Name and Last Name
  • Father's Name and Mother's Name
  • Date of Birth and Country of Birth
  • Passport / ID Number
  • Residential Address in Greece

Step 3. Upload Identity Proof​

Attach a clear scan of your passport data page and legal residence document.

Step 4. Identity Verification via myAADElive​

Select an available date and time slot for a short video call with an AADE tax officer. Present your physical passport during the call.

Step 5. Receive AFM & Taxisnet Credentials (Kleidarithmos)​

Upon approval, you will receive:

  • AFM Confirmation Certificate (Βεβαίωση Απόδοσης ΑΦΜ) — Sent as a PDF to your email.
  • Taxisnet Credentials (Kleidarithmos / Κλειδάριθμος) — Delivered in two separate parts:
    • Part 1: Sent via SMS to your mobile phone.
    • Part 2: Sent via E-mail.

Use these credentials to complete initial login on the AADE Taxisnet portal and establish your permanent password.
